Definition

Standardised markup (usually schema.org JSON-LD) that helps search engines understand a page and can unlock rich results.

Structured data is machine-readable markup — most commonly schema.org vocabulary in JSON-LD — that describes a page’s content (articles, products, FAQs, breadcrumbs, etc.). It helps search engines understand context and can qualify pages for rich results in the SERP.
